Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why Dance?
A: Why not? Check out all the benefits of dancing:
First of all, it’s fun! But dancing has more to offer than just a good time.
Just consider the physical benefits. For example, by maintaining a
moderate level of ballroom dancing, you can burn up to 250 - 300
calories in one hour. The mild exercise dancing provides is also
excellent for improving your posture and body alignment, your flexibility,
and your stamina. It is not uncommon that a person pursuing dancing
as a hobby will also have improved self-confidence.

Dancing is also great as a way of meeting new people or sharing a
useful hobby with your partner. Other benefits dancing may provide
include improved social poise, a creative outlet for stress, or a new
personal interest.

Our introductory offer is a great way for you to find out if dancing is
for you!

Q: Can I learn to dance?
A: Absolutely! Fred Astaire himself once noted that all of the great
dancers he had ever met had not been born such, rather they had been
trained to be great at dancing.

Q: How long will it take?
A: The amount of time it will take a student to learn to dance really
depends on each students dancing goals, and the manner in which
they go through their program.Taking lessons in closer proximity will
almost always equate more rapid progress. We also recommend
making use of all three types of lessons (private, group, and practice
parties).

Q: Will the introductory offer take care of my dancing needs?
A: Unfortunately, no. However it will introduce you to the basic step
in the most popular social dances. This will give you a good base
to find out if dancing is right for you, and which dances you would
like to learn more about.

Q: What do I wear?
A: Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Shoes that stay on your
feet will work better than sandals, flip flops or mules. Leather-
bottomed shoes are a plus.

Q: Do I need a partner?
A: Definitely not. If you are interested in taking lessons alone your
instructor will dance as your partner. And don't forget, our friday night
parties are a great way to meet other dancers.

Q: What if I can’t make my appointment?
A: We request eight hours notice on any cancellations. You will not be
charged for any lessons not taken as long as you adhere to this rule.

Q: How much are lessons?
A: The cost of a dance program is dependent on several factors, such
as how good of a dancer you would like to become, how often you
would like to take lessons, and how many dances you are interested
in learning. The introductory offer is a perfect way to get started, and
after your second lesson your instructor will be able to help you
choose the program most appropriate for your goals.
